Karissa & Hugh – from commitment to covenant – Woodlands Wedding Photographer

Karissa and Hugh smile more than any other couple I have ever had the privilege of photographing. I think I may have 3 images where Karissa is not smiling. And then when I met Karissa’s mom, dad and sister I discovered the entire family smiles all the time. It’s infectious when you are around them not to smile and have fun with them. Their wedding was simply stunning. Karissa is a crafter in the biggest way so she and her mom decided to DIY the wedding and Oh MY… I have never seen such amazing artistry in all my years shooting. Karissa and her mom made 1000’s of paper flowers. Every bridesmaid, every groomsman had unique and stunning bouquets and boutonnières. Every table with stunning center pieces, wreaths and little topiaries adorned the surfaces at The Woodlands Country. And the cake was a work of art, layered with the flowers they had been creating since last June. But nothing stole the show more than the love which exists between Karissa and Hugh. They are just one of those couples who were meant to be together – when I first met Karissa she described Hugh as a big teddy bear and he is… ready to give a hug, sweet smile and compliment at every turn. These two are so blessed to have found each other and it was my pleasure to have had the opportunity to capture their fabulous day.

Karissa’s Bridal’s in Austin – Austin Bridal Photographer

So we planned to go to Austin to do Karissa’s Bridals. She really wanted to be photographed in front of the red doors at St Edwards University as this was most special for her. Traveling the day prior I noted a 30% chance of rain – no big deal – we will make it work. Woke up to mist as think a soup and drizzel that just wouldn’t stop. So plan B – St. Eds is covered so we will go there then to the state captial and see what we can create there. What I feared was going to be a desaster turned into one of my most favorite bridal shoots ever! Karissa is amazingly beautiful and we had a fabulous time with her mom and bff doing this shoot. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it.

This last image was the image Karissa and her Mom chose for her 16×20 portrait – it turned out fabulous and such a beautiful memory for Karissa and her new groom Hugh.

Austin and Inner Space Caverns

My family got to join me on a bridal shoot in Austin a few weeks ago — the bride is getting married tomorrow and her post will come in on Monday — but for now you can see what fun we had exploring the Capital, LBJ Library and Inner Space. We love Austin and the surrounding area – it’s rich in Texas History and has a vibe I really love. Enjoy!

Holly & Elliott – Engagement Session – Houston Aquarium & Buffalo Bayou

It was so much fun spending time with Holly & Elliott and photographing their engagment session. Holly is stunningly beautiful and Elliott is super funny. Together they are a couple who is perfectly suited for one another. We had a great time exploring Buffalo Bayou then to the Houston Aquarium to ride a the ferris wheel. I hope you enjoy the images at much as we had taken them.

Why I love Weddings….

There are many types of photographers out there. Wedding, family, senior, commercial, head shots, etc. I love wedding photography and the reason is that my team and I get one chance, no do-overs, no retakes. It is high pressure and fast moving and we like it like that. I love getting to know my brides, grooms and their families. I love capturing every aspect of their special day in a unique and special way. No two weddings are alike and our approach is always fresh and new with every couple no matter where the location is. What could be more fun than being a part of a day filled with love and joy – it’s just the best for me and my team. Today I received this beautiful note from a bride that truly captures the reason why we do what we do.

Those images are beautiful!!! People have asked me how the wedding was and to be honest, I do not remember very much of it. Mostly because I was soooo busy saying hello to everyone and trying to spend some time with every one of my guests that the night just flew by me and I feel like I missed the party. I have to tell you, these photos brought me to tears!! I see now what my guest have been telling me all along. It was perfect and I am so grateful you were there to catch every moment!!

Ileana & Chuy Tie the Knot in a Grand Celebration at Agave Road

Two families coming together with loads of friends to celebrate the wedding of Ileana and Jesus— it was a day filled with joy and celebration with everyone completely happy for this couple. It was such an honor to have the opportunity to document their joy and love. The reception was non-stop with everyone on the dance floor until the wee-hours of the morning. Every detail was fabulous — gorgeous flowers by Tawyna at Agave Brothers – stunning table coverings and setting by Amanda at Agave Brothers and of course the amazing back drop of Agave Road was the perfect venue for this night time wedding. I think the love, joy and fun comes across in the images — it a total blast to photograph! Enjoy!
